Hi Guys

I was racing at Silverstone on Sunday on the National Circuit – the short one. The weather was nice, with clouds, sunshine and quite a strong breeze.

Leofric looking out the car at the Silverstone Welcome sign (with my Stoked baseball on the dash).

Leofric came along to watch again – I was also wearing my Stoked jacket and baseball cap, obviously not when racing (though the jacket was only worn when I arrived at the circuit and during the trophy presentation, as it was quite chilly at these times).

The paddock area we were stationed – it was actually quite a large space.

Qualifying: Position: 10th out of 10; Best Lap Time: 1:22.222
I built up my speed quite quickly, as I have raced at Silverstone many times before, though I still feel I could push a little harder into Copse Corner – which is the first corner – and improve my line into the Brooklands/Luffield complex.

Leofric was guarding my car before Race 1.

Race 1: Position: 10th; Best Lap Time: 1:19.843
The start was nice and tightly packed and I managed to get a pretty good start and stayed with the pack until the Maggots/Becketts complex when the faster cars pulled away. Mike Cook (#52) had a spin at Becketts on the first lap, so when he caught up with me we had a little fun battling for a couple of corners.
The grip levels were a little patchy, especially into Copse, I seemed to be the only one not to have a spin at some point, even though I had a couple of close moments, I still managed to improve my lap time – by almost 2.5secs!

During the lunch break and long wait to the second race, I somehow gained a couple of fans during the lunch break, while watching the Women’s World Cup on their phone – it was lovely to meet and have a chat with Adrian and Will 🙂
I watched some of the racing with Leofric – it was the TCR lot out, it was very close racing and fun to watch.
I also read some more of my book – Welcome To Night Vale.

Race 2: Position: 9th; Best Lap Time: 1:20.995
Again the start was nice and tightly packed and I managed stay with the pack until the Maggots/Becketts complex.
I tried to push harder and carry more speed through the corners – especially at Copse and the Brooklands/Luffield complex, but I ended up just making myself slower 🤷🏻‍♀️ though I was still just over a second quicker than qualifying. The grip levels were still a little patchy.
There has to be a happy medium 😅.

Overall I tried to race as best as I could and have fun, especially as I didn’t exactly have anyone really to battle with, staying on the black stuff, keeping it pointing the right way and bringing the car home in one piece are all good points.

I got three more trophies 🏆🏆🏆 – two 1st in Class and a Driver of the Race for Race 1, I so wasn’t expecting the Driver of the Race trophy, but it was a nice surprise.

Little Frank (who sits in my car while I race) joined Leofric in posing with my Trophies.

The next race is at Pembrey in October, I really hope I will have enough funds to do it, as I’m still having building work done at home and the final payment for that is pending.

I think that is all for now.
Take Care and God Bless
